Another Almost Good Idea

I have rather hard water, and I have a conductivity meter that is
calibrated to indicate PPM to measure it. I noticed all the smart
people specify measurements in microseimens, so I got a meter
calibrated to read that way.

Off scale high! So much for measuring that.

You could dilute with distilled water before measurement, say 9 parts
distilled to 1 part tap for a 10X decrease in sensitivity. The last
time I bought distilled water and measured it it was 1 microseimen,
perhaps your test sample is closer to 1000, so the measurement would be
accurate, if not convenient.
