I'd agree APD and APC are still the best places to garner information.

While APC is flashier and less dry APD still is the place for more reliable
information. Stuff that may be considered heresy...

I've used fine beach sand for over a decade. And builders sand which
needs to be rinsed well.

You always end up siphoning some out when you chnage water. Maybe a tablespoon
or so per 5 gal bucket....

nitrate for 3 week. No ill effects whatsoever.

Intense red coloration can usually only be sustained
with strong light.

Keep in mind as well plants show more red when they're nitrogen
deficient.

Not primarily. You can tell what a fish eats from the shape of its mouth.

It mostly eats insects, crustaceans and worms in the wild.
