I would also check pH levels.. I find myself high pH does wierd things to my
fish, no matter what breed...

It sounds to me like your fish may have what is called the "shimmies".
This
is something that can effect livebearing fish and can be helped and
prevented. Are the fish moving from side to side (pectoral fins moving
rapidly without their moving forward?). If this is so, then it very well
be
the "shimmies".
