Hi I have a 55 gallon tank with about 15 fish in it I have the penguin
330
and a magnum 350 filter will lots of airation just over the last few
days

have noticed a strong sulfer smell so i did a partial water change and
its
not as bad now but it is still there....what causes this and how do I
fix

Just my tuppence worth, but I wouldn't rake it. I would use the vacuum tube,
driving it deep into the gravel systematically and jiggle, this will ensure
the H2S is taken away by the vacuum and not allowed to dissolve into the
tank where with only a few ppm it will kill fish. As someone else said this
is not a long term solution though.
