Floating liner

If the water level in the pond is higher than the surrounding ground level,
then the weight of water should hold the liner down. If it does not, then
insert a hose between the liner and the soil, and try to get it to go as
near the center of the bulge as possible. The weight of the pond water
should start causing the water to run from the hose, and the liner will
start to settle. Continue filling the pond as the water flows out from
under it. Leave the hose in place for future water to escape. If the liner
is at ground level, I would recommend the liner be lifted around the edges
to make it come up higher than the surroundings.

The pond is a grade level, the house is atteh bottom of a hill, former
farmland with clay about 1 foot down. The farms tells me they used to
call this lot the swamp.

So after putting a lining of field stones around the perimter and along
most of the bottom. with water level is so high the side push in and the
bottom still comes up in spots.

The fish are happy and thriving.

Any suggestions on how I keep the liner in the hole?
