Default At least I salvaged my pump

When old Ivan came and my pond flooded, it also got my pump. Its not
an important item actually as its not used to power a filter or
aerate, just used to power a fountain for asthetics, and move
accumulated junk off the water and over to the ponds banks. Pump was
submergerged under at least 2 or more feet of water for about half a
day or so. That would not be bad but its not a submersible type pump.
I took it all apart, blew out the motor housing, pulled the bearings
and repacked them, and set it outside for a couple of days in the
sunshine to heat up and dry. This morning I heated it a bit in the
toaster oven (all I can use yet as power is stillout, and were on
generator power) just to make sure it was all dry, put it all back
together (bored and tired of cleaning up limbs and leaves etc) and
decided to see if it worked, and it worked just fine. For an el
cheapo pumnp from Harbor freight it has served ne well. Think I paid
around $22.50 for it on sale. 350 gph, 115 foot head and 10 foot lift.
1" in and out lines, draws an advertised wattage of 500, but measured
wattage is actually closer to 400 watts. Not a bad pump in all
reality, considering the price and its been running up until Ivan came
since March or so of this year, 24/7
