I am setting up a 10 gallon quarantine tank. I bought a Penguin Mini
Power filter w/bio-wheel. My question is this. Did I make a mistake getting the Bio- wheel.. For Example, I buy a fish and during quaratine it turns out to be sick and dies. Will the Bio-Wheel have to be replaced? Any help deeply appreciated. Just starting in SW. Russell |

I am setting up a 10 gallon quarantine tank. I bought a Penguin Mini
Power filter w/bio-wheel. My question is this. common enough setup Did I make a mistake getting the Bio- wheel.. not really there are cheaper ways, but this is effective. For Example, I buy a fish and during quaratine it turns out to be sick and dies. Will the Bio-Wheel have to be replaced? no but it might have to be really cleaned(bleached) and re-started though it would be odd. this is the time to learn what a fish-less cycle is, they do great on unused bio wheels you can search groups.google.com for plenty of info on fish-less cycling -- Richard Reynolds |
