What is the ideal temperature for a fantail goldfish. I have seen the range
between 64 to 74 degrees F

74-80oF with great aeration. GF are not cold blooded. Ingrid

I thought _all_ fish were cold-blooded, in the usual sense of the
definition? (ie, they do not regulate their own body temperature, it
fluctuates according to the temperature of their environment)

that is poikilothermic.
cold WATER fish have an absolute requirement for cold water to spawn, live. they
generally have a very high oxygen demand that cannot be met in warmer water. Ingrid

I think you will find that they are coldblooded. That does not mean
that they like cold water though. Perhaps you mant Ingrid that they
are not cold water fish.

I bred ryukin and fantail at 70 degrees F (21 C)

These foto is from today ~11:30 AM, 70 F, Ryukin and Fantail are breeding in
tank:
