Hi all,
My sister has bought me a fishtank for Christmas so now comes time to chose the fish to go in it. Can anyone suggest any useful websites which would list fish along with their pictures, how easy they are to keep, what conditions they need etc? TIA! Sb x |

I'm veggie (part vegan) so the idea of bringing fish together who dont like each other etc etc just isnt my idea of fun. Thanks again! Sb x |

Sb,
How big is the tank, or how much does it hold? This will also determine what type of fish you can have. Remember, keeping fish isn't as easy as most think! You have water changes to carry out, treating water, cleaning the gravel and doing filter maintenance. But above all the work, it is very enjoyable. |

Dont want to put my lil fishies into water and kill them etc. Trust me I dont think its a case of buy a tank, add water, add fish, fish live happy ever after Sb x |

Water changes and gravel cleaning are done at the same time and literally take only a few minutes a week. Filter maintenance is done every month or 2 or 3 depending on the filter, how much you feed, etc. No big deal! Just do a bunch of reading before getting started and then ask questions and you'll be fine. Welcome! |

But please don't crowd 8 goldfish in a 25 ![]() percent water change a week, I rinse the filter/sponge and change the carbon every 2 weeks, I only rince the sponge very lightly. and I'll wipe down the front glass. Thats it. If you get a water changer like the python it is even eaiser. If you go with tropical fish, you can have more dependidng on the size and even live plants and aquascaping is so much fun! One time I bought some brine shrimp to feed my work betta. My coworker looked at me like I was a mass murderer... "You mean you feed Sea MONKEYS to your fish!!!?!!!!"
