Default what's the catch on this RODI unit?

I've been looking at RODI units lately for a new reef tank setup, and
found the item listed below. Basically it's a 6 stage 100gpd unit for
$110. Seems like it's too good to be true, but I don't know enough about
these to tell if there's something fundamentally wrong with it. Can
anyone offer more expert insight? TIA

P.S. I hope my post isn't misconstrued as a feeble advertising attempt;
I swear I'm not affilitated with seller/store, I'm just some guy trying
not to get ripped off!

Have you previously conducted any business on eBay?
You would know that price two days before the auction end
is usually far away from the price the item sells for...
Do not be surprised if the price will jump $20, 40
or even more just one minute before the end...

I bought this setup from the same person, and has worked great for me and
for 110 bucks it has worked great, and the 4 gal storage container generally
gives me 3 gals in about 5 minutes which is perfect for me for topping off
my 55gal.

Hope this helps

The main issue is that this system is proprietary. It isn't using industry
standard sized products, so you will have to buy replacement filters and the DI
cartridge from this vendor or any vendor that sells this setup.

The industry standard is 10" filters, which can be obtained anywhere. And
110gpd membranes aren't common either. 100gpd is.

Actually the only thing that isn't standard is the di filters, the
rest at least on the unit I got (not from this guy, but the one from
Canada that sells on ebay) are standard. And the DI filters are
cheaper even from them. $50 for 4.

They must not last long. I'm still using the same DI on my unit for 14 months.
