hi there ,
I have a really vbig tropical tank and a tiny coldwater one so it seemed to make sense to add the two goldfish to the tropical set up ! Would this cause any serious problems ? |

How big and how small? goldfish need space and are big waster producers, do they can make the water conditions worse for others. They need different food as well. And many tropicals tend to eat their fins... Better not to mix, but then you need to get the goldfish out of a small tank. They need a bigger tank than tropicals... |

I have very few tropical fish in a very large tank (about five) so i will look to rehome the tropicals (though i will keep the pleco in with the goldfish in cold water conditions) |

![]() ![]() here is the one that is a carp - tench mix, apologies for the poor photos they really do not do the fish justice. ![]() carp tench mix (for ease i'll call him fish A) and top tail section of the other fish of an unknown mix, (for ease i'll call him fish B) ![]() tail section of fish B ![]() fish a at the top of this pic and fish B at the bottom. fish B is very strange he has a tail similar to that of a comet but there were no comets in the pond at the time. He has also remained very small even though he was in a very large tank for a good amount of time. I would suspect he was possible tench plus shubunkin .
