In solution, it creates Calcium hydroxide, so it replenishes Ca+ ions. As it's very basic, it's best to drip it in using a drip gate or using a top off device or mix it with the effluent from a calcium reactor. It will help your coralline grow if you have it. It will also react with phosphate and participate out of solution, so it keeps the phosphate under control as well. When I was dealing with hair algae, it really helped knock back the growth. --Kurt |

Is there another benefit to using it? |

Just my "two cents" and someone please correct me if I'm wrong: but in
addition to helping to keep phosphates down and coralline to grow, it also provides the extra available calcium for any corals (SPS's, LPS's, etc,) and any inverts (snails, etc.) that may need it. I started to use it when I set up my first tank almost three years ago, then stopped dosing about a year ago (for three months), then started again because certain things (snails, tube worms, etc) seemed to stop growing (I guess that could have just been a normal cycle for some). But I did notice that when I started again, everything seemed to grow better shortly after. Patrick "KurtG" wrote in message . .. Ok, if I start selling it I'll let you know. Right
now I'm testing the ebay waters by auctioning off ph meters and calibration solutions. http://myworld.ebay.com/waynespets I've never done ebay before, so this will be interesting. :-) Wayne Sallee Peter Pan wrote on 1/4/2008 9:04 PM: Wayne if you decide to sell it, please let us know. Thanks |
