Default Help with Goldfish

Hi I live in Scotland,so as you will probably guess we don't get great
weather,I have had my pond for 3 years now and so the fish are about that
age lost a couple of fish in the last month, not sure if this was the
freezing weather.
Would like to ask why my fish have never bred, seems to me I must have been
very unlucky to have bought 8 male,or 8 female fish.
Can anybody give me any advice on this, also am looking to buy some fish soon
different species but nothing to expensive, pond is big enough to add a few
more fish.
Thanks for any help given.

You live in Scotland (big smile!)
I lived in British Columbia most of my
childhood and have found memories of
Scottish incomers and probably the same
kind of weather.

Goldfish will eat their own eggs, the little pigges. Have you ever noticed them
spawning?
They will chase each other around and the males will knock against the females
when they get them cornered.
To save the eggs - they like to deposit them on floating vegetation. Some folks
used commercially available spawning mats - kind of like string mop heads
(which probably work too).
The eggs are visible to the eye. You can remove the mat to a stock tank or
aquarium. (others can provide more detailed information about rearing)

Spawning is triggered by warmth of the water,
new water, full moon(?)
