Halimeda

I just aquired a large bunch of Halimeda, the first time I've ever
had it. I understand that it likes decent lighting, the only place I
have anything other than NO flourescent is my 75 display. I'm curious
about careing for this, and if my inhabitants will leave it be.

20g sump w/ LR and caulerpa

ricordia mushrooms
small unknown gorgonian
regal tang
six-line wrasse
spotted mandarin
brittle star
emerald crab

And much better than stronger light but with nipping.


It will live under normal lighting, but really grows fast with some 400 halides

I have left the fish name in the quotation: regal tang (hepatus tang).
I have this fish in my tank and it eats Halimeda like crazy.

I am not sure if we want calcareous algae growing like crazy in our tanks...
This could lead to calcium deficiencies if not watched precisely.

an eye on your alk. Hal's really use HCO3 as their carbon source and not CO2

I havent seen fish eat it but my emerald crabs loved the stuff.
