Default stress coat useful?

Hi.

I have to do a gravel vac & adjust a plant some time this week. I know
that the advertising suggests that any time that you do something like
this you should add stress coat, but I'm wondering what the r.a.f. wisdom
is on this -- is stress coat as beneficial as it purports to be? I don't
have any right now, and I'm thinking of buying some before I have to
stress my fish while I muck around in their home. So... what's the
verdict? Is Stress Coat as good as advertised?

Thanks.
