Idiots, get the kid a rabbit

Oh good, he can graduate from mistreating a fish to mistreating a
mammal. That's an improvement?

Its easier to mistreat a fish than it is a mammal. Ever heard of anyone
flushing a sick rabbit down the toilet?

No, but they turn them loose. Sort of the same thing.

Rabbits will escape on their own, Though occasionally a fish may get out
of the tank, I would hardly call it escaping. =)

The end result is usually the same though, Granted, it takes the rabbit a
little longer.....

ahh but a rabbit escaping is different to a lazy/ignorant human flushing
a fish!

Well, in the original post, the rabbit didn't escape. He was dumped in a
field by owners who were tired of taking care of him. That's akin to
flushing a fish, though I suppose releasing a fish into a drainage ditch
would be a closer analogy.

According to the ASPCA, the average lifespan for an abandoned house rabbit
is 3 days. One has to wonder how they came up with that though...

Not necessarily. by the time the fish has choked, the rabbit has been
probably run over or met a cat/dog/angry teenager...

The hares seem to be multiplying, and they are really good at evading anything that tries to get near them.
A rabbit may have lost that skill somewhere along the course of evolution.

Maybe humans should stop trying to domesticate animals.
