What species of cichlids are we talking about? Many cichlids become
territorial when they start breeding and stay that way for the rest of
their lives. I'm guessing this will persist. On the other hand there are
species that only stay that aggressive until the babies are removed,
eaten or reach a level that no longer requires parental care.
