are RESs particularly yummy to predatory birds like herons or hawks?

Herons eat their prey by grabbing them
and taking them right down the gullet. So the smaller the turtle the more danger they are in from herons. I expect there is a size that a turtle would get to that the heron would think twice before attempting. That said, I did read of a heron who really miscalculated and speared a turtle right through one leg hole and out another. Got the turtle stuck on his beak...
