![]() "kathy" wrote in message oups.com... Feeling a bit overwhelmed by the continuing attacks so thought I'd create a new topic. What are you going to try new in the pond this year? A new plant, make a veggie filter, build a bog, try a different kind of fish, add a turtle, repel invaders, or build a new pond or container water garden? ========================= I just bought a mini Umbrella plant (Cyperus) and a colorful chameleon plant (Houttuynia) for my small 150 gallon pond. The little waterfall is also new for this year. The rosy reds love it and hang out at the bottom, in the turbulence. This little pond is a real show piece. For more visit: http://geocities.yahoo.com This service is easy to use since it is menu driven from you internet browser. Getting back to ponds, in my pond which is spring fed with no pump or filter, I am in the process of installing an air pump (40 watt) to aerate the pond. I noticed some anaerobic bacteria this spring when I was bringing up my plants from the bottom of the pond. The minnows were OK, but there was some anaerobic slime on the bottom. -- Pardon my spam deterrent; send email to 18,000 gallon (17'x 47'x 2-4') lily pond garden in Zone 6 Cheers, Steve Henning in Reading, PA USA |

I'll look into alternatives first. - McKoi.... the frugal ponder... ~~~ }((((o ~~~ }{{{{o ~~~ }(((((o |
