Default Magnesium in Aragonite

I've decided to give up on PMDD and go with mega doses of K (10 - 20 ppm per
week), P and N as required. I'll still keep dribbling the Trace Elements
every week.

The one thing I'm not sure about is the Magnesium levels. The recommended
level is up to 10 ppm, but should I treat this like the Potassium (K) or
dribble it with the Trace Elements. I've got some Aragonite in my filter,
does this provide any appreciable Magnesium? The consensus seems to be to
treat Magnesium similar to Potassium and add lots. But how much risk is
there that the Calcium/Magnesium balance will become out of sync and bother
the plants?

TIA

I've had trouble inducing Mg deficicency with reg water changes with
most tap water.

You can add dolomite if it's for Mg/Ca and KH(CO3).

MgCa(CO3)2
Get fine ground, this will dissolve better.

Most folks use baking soda for ther KH. CaCl2(pool stores often carry
it) and MgSO4(Epsom salt) for Ca and Mg.

These dissolve immediately.

Thanks again Tom. I found that the Aragonite (crushed coral) maintained my
PH better than the lawn lime (dolomite). So I guess that answers my question
about the Magnesium. I've still got 50 lbs of lawn lime, if anyone needs
their lawn done.

My water is pretty hard so I wasn't adding any magnsium at all. Oops, big mistake.

I'm really surprised at how much magnesium and iron the plants use.

Use a lot.
