We put a few Black Moors in our pond 2 years ago. Las fall we noticed a
few
odd looking fish. It seems that the Black Moors have crossed bred with a
goldfish and now we have several very odd looking fish. I've uploadeda
picture of one. If you would like to see it go to

Looking at the picture, this does not nesseccerily mean that it's a cross
bred Moor and something else. Goldfish often revert to thier natural
colourings (olive green-black) especially when kept in ponds. My Father has
many fish that have shown this colouration gradually over time. No Moors
have ever been kept in his pond (UK - too cold for Moors outside).

This fish has the fins of a Black Moor and the body shape somewhat but also
sows many traits of the Goldfish. Our pond is in Ontario Canada and our
winters get pretty severe. We build a small greenhous out of 2x2s and
plastic sheeting. Even at 20 below zero outside we have managed to keep it
ice free. We do use a small pond heater too, just incase. You can see more
pictures of the greenhouse at this site.
