Default don't killfile the regulars

Was going to put a few more posters out of their misery(kill file
them) but saw that they were regular posters.

If you think the message is a forgery check the header fields. It'll
most likely be from a re mailer rather than the actual person's email
addy.

Clever little minions!

That's what I've been suggesting for weeks now. The poster doing this has
sworn to kill rec.ponds. He calls it "theocratic warfare strategy." He's
using Dizum.com. Killfileing THAT domain will block all his posts. I'm not
sure if that can be done in OE.

Simple solution: Add the word "anonymous" to your "from:" killfile
filter. They'll all go away....

Better than just having them go away via a killfile go the header and get
the abuse addy for the remailer and write them and complain.

Tom, it doesn't do any good. They don't consider "flame wars" abuse. Even
when a remailer slanders and libels someone it's ignored. All you can do is
either ignore the anon posters, or killfile them (if you can).

A number of remailers specifically state they will take no action for
usenet hostility. They likely draw the line at criminal conduct, but
you'd have to believe that they actually read their abuse box, which
itself is doubtful. About the only surefire way to get their attention
is spelled "subpoena", although a letter on attorney letterhead will
also do it.

# From what I have seen on Usenet over the years - this is true.

They likely draw the line at criminal conduct,

# Since they keep no logs they have no way to know who is or isn't into
criminal activity.

but
you'd have to believe that they actually read their abuse box, which

# I agree. Any complaints probably go straight to the bit bucket.

is spelled "subpoena", although a letter on attorney letterhead will
also do it.

# See above. Without logs even that wouldn't stop the abuser. They can't
ban the person since they have no way to know who she/he is.
