hippo / regal whitespot....

The white spots/ich are from stress how big is your tank, does the hippo
have enough space? it could be getting stressed due to space. I would
not treat with anything as your lfs says but rather look for the cause
of the stress to the fish

My Hippo has white spots all the time! They come and go. I've had him for
almost a year now. I do have a UV sterilizer unit on the tank and use it
when I see white spots appear. Do not use Ich medicines if you have live
rock and other forms of invert life.

There's a couple of products that are "reef safe" ICH treatments but I
haven't had any luck with them at all. If you can catch him, quarantine
and freshwater dips is the way to go although the "ignore it" advice
wasn't all that unreasonable.
