I wouldn't have minded if I could have heard the Pixies mind. On Sun, 28 Aug 2005 23:11:45 +0100, "Gill Passman" gillspamattaylorpassmanspam.co.uk wrote: "NetMax" wrote in message .. . Between all of us, we have probably visited 100s of petshops, perhaps 1000s of times, and overheard comments which made our ears go red. Does anyone have any favourites? I remember overhearing : "Goldfish can live in a bowl because they are air breathers", - and of course the perennial classic: "Oscars are fine in a community tank". ;~) -- www.NetMax.tk Biggest lies my local council told me:- "Reading Festival will be quieter now we have relocated it a few yards up the river " - word perfect right now - Iron Maiden I believe... I know it's off-topic but it drowned out anything we were trying to listen to unless we turned the volume up to a level which would have scared the fish..... BTW I can't believe I've become such an old foggie :-) Hey, if it had been something I liked (like the good old days ) I might have spent the weekend in the garden - lol I think the higher up the hill you get the worse it becomes - Albert Road Park on Friday pm with the little one I could even hear the introductions.....my sister in law who lives in Lower Cav could hear it but not the words - so just like you. I've got a friend in the Heights who claims she could even sing along to every song when Elton John did the Madjeski - I can't comment coz I was there....(BTW not my usual taste but he was there and I don't get out much - it was v. good) I guess the move was to suit those influential (rich) residents of The Warren - certainly didn't help any of us much.....I remember years ago living on Caversham Road and apart from the hoards walking up and down the road couldn't hear a thing - bit disappointing coz I think it was Lizzie that year..... Wonder if any of the council are fish keepers????? Gill |
