I'm setting up 40 gal Hexagon tank (not a reef) Just going to use for
fish only. Triggers-Tangs-Clowns-Butterflys-Angels using 2-Ehiems (2015) 2-powerheads for under gravel filteration 1.Will I really need a protein skimer or will the media with in the 2-Ehiems filter be OK? Do I realluy need 2 Ehiems or just 1, maybe 2 is overkill? 2.What is the best thing to use to start up the niatrate cycle? 3.When should I add the Amquel? THKS/Rick I have had Sal****er aquariums before but there are alot of new products on the market now and I want to be sure I have a really good setup. |

Maybe you would prefer to post on fish-only forum instead.
For us, reefers, your fish colection in 40g sounds crazy... 40g is too small for fish you listed. Unless you meant 140g with 40g sump... ;-) news:rec.aquaria.marine I hope there are some ways in fish-only part of the hobby to keep these number of fish from killing each other in 40g. Get the biggest skimer you can possibly afford and add 5000 liters of
circulation as a minimum then prepare for frequent water changes until you get a tank wich your fish will actually thrive in "Rick" wrote in message om...
