Default Pond Plants Eaten Overnight

I am stumped! We have 2 smaller ponds, and overnight every one of my
lilypads were eaten off. Also totally gone were every one of the
impatients growing in the rocks on the waterfall. We've had the ponds
for a couple years already. What is going on here? The water
hyacinths and fish are still here.

Do you have deer in your area? I also saw rabbits (before we netted our
ponds) leaning over and eating the pickerel weed. They ate it down to the
water line in less than a week.

Turtles are quite fond of waterlilies and will peck things willy nilly.
Is it possible a turtle could have wandered in?

There are also those caterpillars that can devastate waterlilies in days.
They're green and hard to see but sure can damage the leaves.
