I had a QT tank set up and lost all fish i tried to QT. Lemon peel
angel( small ) and a scopas tang also small. LFS told me that the fish
dont come with the disease, its the water that holds the parasites.
They said that if the fish in the main tank are doing fine its cacuse
their immune systems are strong and that QT are a waste of money. Also
that QT causes them more stress and thats why they died. NOW NOW, Im
not saying I agree......(please dont hit me) lol, but since i tried to
QT other fish and paid so much money ($80) for the purple tang, I
figured that I'll try it their way......I agree, tangs need bigger
tanks but I'm a sucker for a purple fish...

Personally I like the quarantine tank idea. Especially if the fish is not
eating as well as its aggressive new tank mates. I like to get the fish
fattened up over a 6-8 weeks so it can hide and not eat much for a few days
in the new tank until it feels comfortable and the old tankmates leave him
alone. A short quarantine probably does cause more stress to the fish
because it goes from ocean to plane to store to quarantine then tank. At
least if it fully recovers in the quarantine tank its only 1 shock to the
new tank. I also don't put any copper or anything in the quarantine tank
unless a specific problem arises
