Default Eheim 2229

I have a 100gal FO tank and am thinking of replacing my current wet/dry
filter (which has bio-balls) with an Eiheim 2229.

Is this a good move? I currrently have problems with cloudy water. If I
use some ph adjuster it clears up for a while, but then clouds up again.

Thanks

Canister filters are not good for marine tanks, they tend to create
high amounts of nitrates, necesitating frequent water changes.

http://faq.thekrib.com/sbegin-setup.html#components may help.
The bit about filters is about 1/2 way down.

canister filters are more an issue w/ reef tanks than FO tanks
if you clean the filter regularly, you shouldn't have a problem

For FO in marine tank according to "Cindy & Ken", it should be ok. BUT still
need to attend schedule water changes. It not to critical since they only
have Fish and not coral / clam etc... that is sensitive to the condition.
