Actually I ended up using a plexiglass cylinder type trap that I borrowed from
my LFS. It has a sliding door on on end that is held open with fishing line....when the fish goes in you release the line and the door shuts Seems simple enough right? The trick was getting him to go inside. After one long night of missed attempts I just started putting their food in the trap and they became comfortable going in and out. By the third day I simply put the food in the trap....with the door closed and let them go crazy trying to get inside. Once I opened the trap door a bit the domino was the first on in and BINGO....got his a** !! I I raised the trap to the level of the water line so that there was some movement inside to keep it oxygenated. The next day I bagged him up and traded for a nice group of green chromis. The stress level in my tank has dropped tremendously. The chromis really do get the more timid fish to come out and be seen. Thanks to those of you that replied :-) |
