Default Help - Breeding brine shrimp

Hi all,

This is my first post here, hopefully someone can help me out.
My blue ram start breeding last week any I start looking for clue to feed
the fry.
I've looked into many thread regarding breeding brine shrimp, and decided
to try it.

I've use the similar method as on this website
http://www.aquariumhobbyist.com/endl...arer/page4.htm
After waiting 48 hours, I took a sample and looked them under 400x
magnification, and see that the eggs are all
"open up" and tiny crystal like stuff are stuck with the egg shell, but no
baby brine shrimp.

My mixture is as follow:-

1 liter of tap water
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of salt

I've disposed the mixture of my first attempt. Now my second attempt, after
28 hours
The eggs are all "open up" and with tiny crystal like stuff again. The
whole mixture are still
brownish and unlike the orange colored as publish on many website.

What I've done could have went wrong.

im not sure what has went wrong, i do have a book i bought at the book
store that has that same way of hacthing brine shrimp

as follows:
Constrution:

1: with a sharp knife or scissors remove the bottom 4" from 2 liter
plastic soft drink bottle. this will form the stand

2: screw the cap on the top portion of the bottle and invert it into the
stand you have just made

3:insert into the top portion of the bottle a length of flexible air
line tubing.

Use:

1: add the proper amount of water, salt, and eggs as specified on the
egg container

2: turn up the air eoungh to keep all the eggs in suspention during the
hatching process (24-48 hours depending on the temperature)

Collecting the shrimp:

1:remove the air line the egg shells will gradually float, and the
shrimp will settle to the bottom of the hatcher.

2: using a piece of air line tubing,s iphon the shrimp through a fine
mesh brine shrimp net (avial at pets stores)

3: rinse the shrimp to remove excess salt and feed to your fish

i have not tried this yet so im not sure how it works, it looks to be a
little diffrent but not much then what that website says, just thought
id let u hear this one, hope it works for you
came out of a book called "cichlids" by barron's, very good book,
explains alot about cichlids

I purchased a San Francisco Bay Brand Shrimpery. It's not intended for
raising shrimp to adult size, but it makes getting baby brine shrimp pretty
easy.

All I had to do was put the mixture provided into the container, fill with
cold water. Then you fill the collection cup with water. The shrimp hatch
and swim through the small hole in the collection cup because they are
attracted to the light. You can collect for 24 hours.
