from the light driven process of photosynthesis. It will also benefit from
additional food such as micro-plankton,
baby brine shrimp, or foods designed for filter feeding invertebrates.

I feed my tank with ZoPlan and PhytoPlan...

Sometimes if I'm bored I'll shut off the filter and use a turkey baster to
blow
the filter food right over the polyps. Don't know if it makes a difference.
