he is a blue betta also....thats funny, he is a sweetie...now if he would
quite making nice and get to bussiness i would be happy...

LOL!! Give him a chance. He'll most likely get down to business when you
least expect it. ;-) Before you know it you'll be crawling in fry. You
need to start saving jars and containers to put them in when they need to be
separated. Some spawns are pretty darn big.

I got these really neat containers, have a hole in the middle of the lid for
air and are not a bad size, female bettas are sold in them, I got some from
a store a while back, the girl just gave me a stack of them, which was
nice....its funny how different bettas are from one another..I want to get a
yellow and black and I think unless I get them on the net I am not going to
find them here.
thanks koi-lo...let you know what happens

I know the ones you mean. Wally World sometimes sells their bettas in them.
:-) I saved mine as well.

I got a beautiful pure yellow from PetsMart about 5 years ago and haven't
seen them anywhere since. I hope you find one. Good luck!

My husband always is dragging me away from the betta place in the
store...but I have looked at the *reg* pet stores and all I ever see are
blue (mixed with some red) or all red, white body w/ some color fins usually
mixed, and some are very pretty but not for breeding, I know a couple
breeders in this area and have got a couple betta's from them, but they
never have black or yellow either, I seen a purple one on the net the other
day but I am wondering if it was just the cam or the way the pic was taken
but it was pretty...

When I fish shop I leave my dear hubby at home. :-) I always stop to chat
with any workers I know. I like to look over every tank several times and
check out all the new stuff they get in. Having someone with me doesn't
work unless they're another fish freak. We have those same old colors here
as well. I haven't seen a decent green or yellow betta in years. Some are
very poor reds and blues. Some are almost colorless. I'm starting to
wonder if they even cull them before selling them to the wholesalers.

Ordering them online would be costly. They don't offer the $3.99 to $5.99
bettas either. Then you have the shipping charges to consider.
