This is actually a fantastic suggestion, especially since I spent a
good deal of time about two years ago getting to know Tcl/Tk, and I
certainly know it better than GTK, and far better than qt.**Thanks!

You probably know it a lot better than me. I retired several years ago
and my Linux box is almost exclusively used for Internet/Usenet access
and a few home spreadsheet applications.

A question in return. Have you found any Xwindows newsreader (or email
reader for that matter) that allows filtering on numeric addresses in
the "received by" chain? Such as "trash all mail with 123.45.67.89" in
the chain.

OT I know, but I will be brief!

Slrn, an s-lang (similar to ncurses) console newsreader has great
scoring/killfiling. You can score on any header, but the docs recommend
for efficiency that you try to stick to Subject, From, Xref, References,
and Lines, for "efficiency." You can score/kill on any header, however.

I score on NNTP-Posting-Host frequently to weed out known trolls and
other malfeasants.

It runs under Windows, *nix, and Mac.

I'm pretty certain that gnus and trn, and, if you are into a gui like
FreeAgent, Pan, will do similar filtering.

The slrn score-file format is really simple. Google "slrn scoring" or
see the docs at http://www.slrn.org

As for email: procmail is the greatest mail filtering app I can think
of. I read mail with mutt and sometimes thunderbird (which is on my
wife's mac). Procmail can do almost anything to your mail. It can be
used in Windows with the help of cygwin.

Fred

Something that may be useful is a reminder for water changes, ferts
etc. To go even further... put in your plant species, tank size,
lighting etc. and the program gives you a reccomended dosing schedule.

EVEN further would be to integrate it with probes that some aquarists
use. I want a probe for some reason, I don't need one at all, I think I
just want to own a probe.

Sounds like a guy thing. Or a girl with a probe envy thing.

Go to the menu, the second pull down one, labelled Impostazioni. From
there, select the option Lingua (second to last). Select Inglese,
click OK, exit the program, and re-launch.

Inglesis is not an option on that pulldown. Or any pulldown. Maybe I
need a newer version.

My husband just bought a brand new PC with all the bells and whistles he
desired for under $700. That's with a 200G HD and a 3+ GHz CPU........ The
prices have come down tremendously.
