Default Stupid Question

Hey there.. thanks for your time in advance. I posted this question the
other day in another group... but this one seems more lively!

I have a 25 Gal. tank I was running for awhile. My Last fish did the old
sun bathing the belly trick last fall, and since then I have emptied the
tank. Now over time there has been a white scaly build up on the canopy.
I assume this is mineral deposits from water evaporation. Anyways to the
main question. how do I remove that scaly stuff? I was thinking of soaking
it with vinegar and then rinsing it well. Anyone got any tips? Like I
said the tank is empty right now. Prob gonna start fresh when I restart
(new gravel, new rocks ect) Any hints would be muchly appreciated!!

Thanks a bunch

Vinegar will work quite well.

I get similar mineral deposits. I've had little luck with vinegar and it
smells disgusting. I use Lime-Away or C-L-R and an old toothbrush to remove
the deposits. Rinse well.
