Default Looking for recommendations for a new light fixture

Bryan;

Actually I was considering the Current Satellite Dual fixture, so I'd
have the same amount of light. I've heard that the fan in this fixture
is pretty noisy, though.

I just got this one. May be more light than you want but it has everything
you need. It has glass between the bulbs and the aquarium that may keep the
corrosion from the fixtures. Take a look and let me know what you think. I
was looking at Aqualite's originally but went with this one.

I'm very new to lighting. On my OuterOrbit the fan is very negligible.
It's a pretty sold light so that might be why. I'm willing to bet there's a
pet store or two that uses your Satellite fixture. Maybe you can drive to a
couple and see if they have 'em to listen to.

Default Looking for recommendations for a new light fixture

Hey folks;

Looks like this thread took a different and interesting turn ;-) ...
anyway, I bought the Current USA fixture and am pleased with it so far.
Seems to be built very well. The fit of and access to the acrylic
shield is much better than in other fixtures I've owned in the past,
including the Coralife AquaLight. The fan is slightly noisier than in
my AquaLight, but not so much that it bothers me, and is on a separate
cord so I can unplug it temporarily if I need to. I think the fan is
more efficient than in the AquaLight, too. I like the built-in moon
lights LEDs.

Acrylic shield? That is odd...
I would expect UV blocking piece of glass in that place.
Especially with double-ended MH bulbs...

Is the fan temperature controlled or is it on full speed all the time ?

I like the built-in moon lights LEDs.

Do you have any control over their brightness ?

This fixture comes with four 65w PC bulbs, sorry for the confusion.
