Dechlorinator...

Is there any commercially available dechlorinator that does not contain aloe
vera? Being in the UK, I don't think I can ring up a chemical co. and ask
them to post me some thiosulphate? I e-mailed Sigma and they told me they
couldn't sell me any chemical, no matter how benign.

well well, it looks like Seachem changed the formula. The last bottle
I used called for 1 drop/gal. I don't think it did anything more then
just chlorine/chloramin removal.

I would use the new Prime. Seachem has a good record.

Dunno. I thought all you needed to stimulate slime coat was a mild irritant?
Anyhow, at 1ml per 10 gallon dosage, I don't see how it can have aloe vera
*and* neutralize chlorine and chloramine, detoxify ammonia, nitrite, nitrate,
heavy metals, etc. It only lists "complexed hydrosulfite salts" as ingredients.

Don't see why you can't buy sodium thiosulfate. I did here in the US
without any issue. It isn't an ingredient in anything dangerous - that I
have ever heard of.
