Small powerhead with a sponge filter. What's the purpose of the powerhead? Must I find a way to plug it into the sponge filter? Or is it simply to provide water current in the tank? I'm asking because as far as I know (and beleive me I still have a whole lot to learn), sponge filter operate with airline tubing connected to an air pump (at least the ones that my LFS sells, if there are others that works differently please make same recommendations). And the powerheads I've seen seems to be connected on a bigger tube (coming from an undergravel filter I guess). So I'm not sure exactly how to set up this thing. BTW, until I find something better, I've set up the tank with a BioFoam double sponge filter from Hagen ( http://www.hagen.com/usa/aquatic/pro...00902002010 1 ). Thanks. Tzeentch |
