Default New tube. Hagen Aquaglo or Triton

Thanks for the links - will have a read.

Should have said, that I only have one tube so need something for the plants
& fish - rather than just one.

Need to replace my old tube (currently an Hagaen Aquaglo)

Tank had the problem of low light (i.e only 30w of light for 120 lts),

so
need a tube that is "plant friendly"

Should I replace with another Hagen? Try and Triton or somethings else?

The Aqua-Glo is the starting point for the Hagen lights, OTOMH there is
Flora-Glo, Power-Glo, Sun-Glo, Life-Glo and Marine-Glo (and a couple of
others I forget), so if getting another Hagen, definitely upgrade. You
can compare all the specs between manufacturers, but I'm not sure how far
that will get you (ie: they don't seem quite sure how important red/green
spectrum is to aquatic plants as compared to terrestrial plants). You
can collect opinions (r.a.f.plants will have stronger opinions), but
opinions are very circumstantial, and no one does controlled tests to
compare growing results. I mix Power-Glo and a GE generic for good
results (would I do better with something else?). Here are a few links
I've read on the topic. The 2nd link is of a fellow who did do some
comparative studies (from overall colour appearance) which might help.
The AHsupply link (12th down) is a commonly referenced source for
lighting upgrades, which might be your most effective solution. hth

Hagen Life-Glos make my plants grow like lunatics....they are a bit more
expensive but last 18 months or so rather than the 9-12 months you get

out
of most tubes.

How do they fish look with these tubes? Any comparison to say Triton?

The Life Glo is a very "white" light - sort of bright sunlight - so things
just look very bright ! Not familiar with Triton tubes so unable to compare

I.
