Also since you have two 150 watt small point source lights, you can put corals up close to those lights, and gain quite a bit more light, whereas florescent light is more spread out. MH light rules :-) But if you put corals TOO close to the light, and they WILL bleach... |

MH light rules :-) But if you put corals TOO close to the light, and they WILL bleach... Yeah, I've heard this. I think there was a recent article in the "Tropical Fish" rag. They recommended introducing new lightly in increments rather then just a swap out. I was planning to radically cut back on the hours of light and then ramp back up to where I am when I get my new lights. Don't know if that's necessary, but I figure it won't hurt anything. --Kurt |

That's rarely a problem. They may not bloom out as much, but rarely do they really suffer from the increased lighting. I'm worried about my anemones, but then again, they can move if they don't like it. --Kurt |

May take a while before the correct fish gets into the trap, but it sure beats tearing everything down. http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewIt...product=UL1513 |

Kurt - why are you tearing the tank about for Ich?
Just kill the lights for a day or 2. If you like add a bit of something like Myaxin or some other ich treatment. Worked great for me. ~m "KurtG" wrote in message ... all to often they move and move and move right into a filter or powerhead intake... I finally added 2 peewee 90 gph powerheads, but they have a protective sleve. I bought the tank w/ a huge powerhead and it blasted a ritteri into a watery grave. --Kurt |
