Hi, I have a 20 gallon tank. In that tank I have 4 Black Tetra. I am new to this hobby and am wondering if anyone would be so kind as to tell me what other fish would be compatible with them. I would love to get a Loach in there but I dont know if it would be compatible. Black Tetras are an excellent fish for a community tank as they can adapt to a wide range of tank conditions. The only reservation that I have is that they can get nippy with long finned fish. A trio of Dwarf Loach (Botia sidthimunki) would go well if you can get them. Failing that perhaps a Coolie Loach (Pangio kuhlii) might suit. Most other loaches get too big for a 20 gal tank. Other tankmates you might consider include Kribs (Pelvicachromis pulcher), Dwarf Acaras (Nannacara anomala), Corydoras catfish (Corydoras paleatus) and Golden Barbs (Barbus schuberti). Welcome to the fishkeeping obsession. I mean hobby. -- Graham Ramsay You might be a Bright: www.the-brights.net |
