Water circulation to prevent stagnation?

You should be fine for some time with the setup. Jack Dempseys are
pretty neat fish IMHO. Depending on tank size you should be fine with
the setup........They will outgrow a 10 gal tank but it will take a
bit of time......just something to bbe aware of.
