Default Office with aquariums instead of cube walls?

Costly?: yes. Stupid?: not if the company has the money to do it. I
would much prefer being surrounded by aquaria to being surrounded by
gray fabric (as in my current job). Yes the workareas should be larger
for the employees, which would also get them away from tank lighting,
which is definitely needed ... then again tank lighting would be some of
the necessary task lighting, so overall room lighting might be reduced.

Anyway, I wish I could put even a small aquarium in my cube at work.

Have to admit that I am wondering whether the picture is real or
doctored ...

1. The aquaria must be a real pain to service.
2. The workers have no space at all...much less than a cubicle. Must be
marketing or stock brokers.
3. There is no direct lighting of the aquaria...they look dark (of course
any lighting would distract the workers at that close range).

This is about the most costly and stupid idea I have ever seen.

Has anyone heard of an office which has aquariums
instead of cubicle walls? Do you know where it is
and the story behind the design.

I've been searching on 'Net, but, come up with nothing
so far.

If it is picture doctoring, they should get an award. All the tanks have
different interiors (although no fish are present that I can see), and have
reasonably correct transparency. Most of the CRT monitors are right in the
corners...but who knows?

interesting. but I wouldn't call them "cubicles" while searching.
have you looked for "fishtable" or mailed the webmaster for clues?
search "divider", maybe?

But I'd much rather have the privacy of my cube than the lack of privacy in
the picture.

"the privacy of my cube"

Oh Lord, how our expectations have slipped...

Next they'll be feeding us pellets, telling us how much better they are
than normal food.

This was an interesting, but short, article.

Well, someone had too much money to play with to make an inefficient
space.
It is just awful.

It creates a really unique atmosphere.

That board room is embarassing. More like a cheap Disneyland imitation.

I
would not invest in this company.

I thought of disneyland too. As for investing, you don't have to because
Mercury Interactive bought them out.
