![]() MY RO/DI units lie horizontal to the RO unit. However, it appears to me that the water channels along the top and don't actually pass through the resin material. I ordered some more resin to see if I could pack it in there better, but are there any tricks of the trade. I'm tempted to just mount them vertically with the water flowing up. I think it would work better. Anyways, either my TDS is broken or I'm doing 0 ppm on the outflow. Next time I shut it off I'll have to switch my output/input meters and see if there is a difference. --Kurt |

The RO usually goes horizontal. The prefilters, and
the DI usually go vertical. Wayne Sallee Wayne's Pets KurtG wrote on 3/23/2007 9:56 AM: MY RO/DI units lie horizontal to the RO unit. Many of the newer ones have vertical DI housings to help eliminate the channeling effect and also better contact through the media. My old unit had a horizontal DI canister and my newer unit has a larger vertical unit that works much better and less channeling. See: http://www.thefilterguys.biz/ro_di_systems.htm It will show the smaller units with horizontal and the larger units with vertical canisters. I use the OCEAN REEF + 1 FIVE STAGE 75 GPD RO/DI and although it costs more it puts out 60-65gpd and still has 0 TDS by unit meter and handheld meter after 4 mths of use |
