One fine day in alt.atheism, "Mark Earnest" bloodied us up with this: God is not redefined. He has always been things atheist believe in, like light, intelligence, compassion, and perfection. None of which are 'god'. Yes they are, and you know it. Why on earth would an atheist know that your references are evidence of "god" when said atheist does not believe in *any* gods, including yours? We know what produces light, it is not supernatural. We know what produces intelligence, it is not supernatural. We know what produces compassion, it is not supernatural. Perfection is a pipe dream of those who believe in the supernatural. Yes, it is not supernatural, but it is qualities of God, which atheists believe in. These "qualities of god" are of your own invention, and they usually correspond to the qualities of common sense, which require no gods. How can perfect virtues not be qualities of the infinite? -- Uncle Vic aa Atheist #2011 Supervisor, EAC Department of little adhesive-backed "L" shaped chrome-plastic doo-dads to add feet to Jesus fish department. There are no 'perfect virtues' Nothing makes sense unless it is perfect. Like what you just said became imperfect when you enclosed it by meaningles single quotes. |

There are no perfect virtues for the simple fact that there is no such thing as perfection. Calling something perfect makes no sense. |

I have a chair here, but it's not perfect. Smeg, chairs make no sense. Well, all that aside, I'm comfortable in my chair, at my desk, using my computer to do my work while drinking my coffee. You can worry about perfect; the rest of us are happy to deal with this universe. |

Define "perfect virtue". Show how light, intelligence, and compassion satisfy that definition. Define "infinite" in terms that require that light, intelligence, and compassion are qualities of it. |
