I strongly suggest using native species. This is a lake and not an isolated backyard pond, so there may be environmental regulations that only allow native species as well. In my state, one is prohibited against planting any non-native water lillies in water that is part of a water shed. Native species will be much likely to grow well since the area has already proven able to support that species. |
