Default red brown algae

"touchofnature" wrote in message .. .
I'm kind of new at having a reef tank. It is a 75 gallon with a tide
pool filter and I have a skimer as well. I have had this set up for
over a year now and things are good but I get a lot of red brown algae
all over the coral.I think it is stoping the growth of other plant
life.Is there something that can be done.

What is the level of phosphates and nitrates in your tank?
What is the pH and alkalinity?
