I seldom saw them over the two years they've been in the tank. ?The tank is planted so I don't know if the other one is still alive as they hide all the time. The rubberlip pleco looks fine but I never see it eating anything, including algae. Sorry to hear about losing the little guy. = ( Look at the rubber lipped Pleco's stomach when he's on the glass, or try and catch him if you have to. The under side of his belly should be plump, not sunken in if he's getting enough to eat. ============================ He's always on the back glass behind the sponge over the filter intake. He looks ok from what I can see, and there's plenty of algae in the tank and on the plants again. But yes, I'd love to see his belly on the front glass. I'm getting that ugly black algae on everything again. Also green algae on the plants and glass. I bought new bulbs for the fixtures and that seemed to kick start it........ I rid my tanks of most of algae by cutting my lights on hours from 16 to 14. |

I think I'm going to buy a timer and do the same thing. I'm not even sure how long they're on each day. I shut them off at different times of the night, turn them on different times in the morning etc. A cheap timer from Wally World should do the trick. |
