About a year ago, I created a web page on my website with tips on how to get set up to this newsgroup. At that time, I located the verizon's instructions, and posted the direct link on my page to their newsgroup instruction page. That page is now gone, and I could not find any such info on their pathetic web site. But obviously if you are still using it, then they still have it :-) Ok then Mitch, if you want to use verizon's newsgroups, George has given the server name for you. It's "news.verizon.net". I'm working through Verizon's newserver right now. Have been for years. Just have to put "news.verizon.net" in the server name field of T-bird. : Wayne, Yeah unfortunately the comcast bit was when I was at home...this post is when I'm at work ![]() Unless your work server blocks newsgroup access, your home login should work regardless of location. If they do block direct newsgroup access, then either Gooogle Groups, or a pay for newsgroups web service (like MailandNews) are your only choices... And google doesnt let me see header info. In Google Groups, hit the "More Options" link at the top of any message, then choose "Show Original" to see the message with its headers. DaveZ |

All I had to do with Netscape was to enter the Comcast server name in the appropriate field of the account settings information. Netscape is based on Mozilla, which makes Thunderbird these days. If you can get T-bird set up at home, you can copy the settings at work. George Patterson Worry doesn't improve the future; it just ruins the present. |
