It all dependson what part of the country your in and who you talk to.
It would be perfectly natural for say a LFS to say that if thats the
major brand they push. For the most part most all food is fine
anymore. Tetrae, And Hikari are probably among the most
popular..........Around here its HIkari.Tetrae is usually only found
in big box stores, LFS push mainly the Oceanic and Hikari
brands....Same thing for Wardley, nothing wrong with it, but its not
as popular as others at least in this area. Compare the labels and
see what your getting. Shrimp meal and other real proteins derived
form animal matter from fish etc is beter than jusk form byproducts of
a grain mill etc..generally more protein is better, and less added
food colorants.

the best food is the most natural diet the fish evolved with. for my fish that is
freeze dried krill and other itty bitty critters.
GF and koi do not digest carbohydrates so any fish food with wheat, corn etc should
only be there for "binding". I have given up on commercially prepared foods because
I suspect they are toxic like dog foods. I gave up on commercial dog foods a couple
years ago and didnt have to worry about poisoning my dogs. Ingrid
