Default [Pics] Ever see a Pleco with fins like this

I had a 2 1/2 Pleco that developed those spots over a period of a month or
two. The actually began to look like hard calcifications after some time.
Anyway, yesterday I noticed that they were mostly gone and today he was
dead. The tank has a UV unit on it and all the other inmates are healthy as
can be. I still have no idea what it was, but my lfs said he's heard a
number of customers talking about it and he'd never seen it before in 35
years.
